As a
special education teacher I have taught children with autism for several
years both in the classroom and at home.
My training is in the area of ABA/Verbal Behavior Therapy which I have
found to be very, very effective. My training came
about through multiple workshops presented by Dr. James Partington, BCBA-PhD, and
Dr. Vincent Carbone, Ed.D, BCBA. A few years ago I had the good fortune of
sharing several students with Dr. Partington and my respect for the field of
behavior analysis and its impact on functional language development through verbal behavior therapy grew
exponentially.
This summer of 2013 I had the awesome opportunity to serve as a missionary on a team of five to present on autism in Ukraine. Starting in September of 2013 proceeds from sales of my Basic Language Instructional Set will go towards translating assessments and educational materials into Russian. We look forward to returning in the near future to continue our efforts in helping children, parents, educators, and doctors.
